Ik noemde haar mijn vlinder
en voor enkele weken,
zo kort en vluchtig,
fladderde zij rond in mijn hoofd
voorzichtig nectar verspreidend
tussen de wonden en scheuren.
Haar zachte vleugels wekten mij in de avond
wanneer zij bij me was
ze streelden mijn wangen
bewogen zich over het scheve lijf
tussen de wonden en scheuren.
Maar met haar tong zaaide ze twijfel
maakte ze me verder instabiel

Children aren't bulletproof
Children aren't bulletproof
The terror in the eyes of a little child
Seeing the bullets pass by his side
Turning over the corpses of his parents
Hear him cry "mummy wake up" and sob "Daddy play with me..."
The rain gushes down and the firing continues
the sounds die away in the pitter patter on the earth
an eerie screech can be heard
The terror in the eyes of the red cross worker
On his first day on the job
with a stick poking amongst the rubble
hitting something rather soft
The horror in the eyes of the red cross worker
as he gazes upon the charred remains
Another future shattered
Dreams and hopes all splattered
In a second's

He tells me to stop fidgeting, I tell him to.
He throws his head back and laughs. He always had the best smile, the best laugh. Teeth not too straight, and laugh too loud. But infectious, and enticing. It was a sound I hadn't forgotten after eleven months, but missed greatly.
I don't know why, but I expected a big change. Nothing has. His hair, still buzzed short, a sharp black against his tan skin. The reddish scar jutting out from his hairline, halfway down his forehead. I always thought his tattoos were his best feature. One he wasn't born with, but he wouldn't be himself without. His gang symbols, lacing his neck. Reminding him, and eve

Small Children
They annoy you to bits
They're stubborn to the bone
But they're cute little shits
Even when you want to be alone
They're noisy til the end
They're always around
So it's hard to pretend
That they aren't making a sound
They may be rowdy
They're better when they're not
Though it's worse when they're pouty
And you can't trade what you've got
Love 'em endlessly
It's what they deserve
Even though they have a tendency
To get on your last nerve

Echt het laatste wat ik over haar zal schrijven, mijn belofte.
Het is toch afgelopen, dus dat maakt weinig uit.
Graag feedback.
